About the Volkswagen Brasília
The Volkswagen Brasília is a rear-engined compact car produced by Volkswagen do Brasil from 1974 to 1982. Designed by Márcio Piancastelli, the Brasília was intended to replace the Beetle, known as the Fusca in Brazil. The car combined the chassis and underpinnings of the Karmann Ghia with styling reminiscent of the Volkswagen Type 4 wagon. It used a 1.6L air-cooled flat-4 mated to a 4-speed manual.
