Mighty Maverick

Mighty Maverick was introduced in the 1970 Hot Wheels line-up. Based on the 1969 Ford Maverick with a lot more flare, the model sported such features as a V8 motor under the hood which was not offered in the real Ford Maverick until two years later in 1971, as well as "nose-down" suspension setup and a massive rear spoiler to give the car a drag-ready appearance. It was originally named 'Mad Maverick' during the prototype and pre-production stages. A few models exist with the 'Mad Maverick' name
