About the Ferrari 250 LM
The Ferrari 250 LM is a racing sports car version of the 250 intended to compete in endurance racing. The car was essentially a coupe version of the 250 P and was intended to replace the 250 GTO as the main car it could use for sports car racing in the 1960s; initially intended to be homologated for Group 3, the car had to compete in Group 4 as the FIA refused to homologate the car for Group 3 as Ferrari had built significantly fewer than the cars required to allow homologation.
