About the Custom Cougar (2002)
The Ford Cougar, known in North America as the Mercury Cougar, is a coupe produced by Ford Europe from 1998 to 2002. Designed by Darrell Behmer and based on the Mondeo, the Cougar was Ford's attempt at reintroducing a sports coupe into the European market, in a similar vein to the Capri. The car was introduced in December 1998 to mixed reviews, mainly due to its controversial styling.
