About the Cadillac LMP
The Cadillac Northstar LMP is a sports prototype race car built for use by Cadillac in endurance racing. Designed by Bill Riley and built by Riley & Scott, the Northstar LMP was named for the engine it used and was homologated for the LMP900 class. It used a 4.0L L47 twin-turbocharged V8 mated to a 6-speed Xtrac sequential. The cars were used by Team Cadillac (operated by Riley & Scott) in the American Le Mans Series and DAMS in the FIA Sportscar Championship. The car would be upgraded for 2001,
